RELIGIOUS SCHOOL AT TEMPLE BETH EL
With the cooperation and support of parents, our Religious School provides our children with the foundations of a Jewish Education within a positive setting. Our principal, Phyllis Mintz, works closely with Rabbi Yaffe and an interactive Board of Education to create a dynamic Educational Program. Our teachers are well qualified and provide a nurturing and stimulating environment for our students. We are proud to be a recipient of Solomon Schechter Gold Award for Educational Programming that is given by the United Synagogue of Conservative Judaism.
Knowledge of Jewish Traditions, Holidays, History, Ethics and Mitzvot, along with proficiency in Hebrew Reading, Writing and the Recitation of Prayers helps our children to develop a strong sense of Jewish identity and prepares them to become responsible and active members of the Adult Jewish Community.
Our school is in session on the following days:
- Pre K: One Tuesday month 4:15pm to 6:00pm
- Grades K-2: Tuesdays 4:15pm to 615pm
- Grades 3-7:Tuesday & Thursday 4:15pm to 6:15pm
Religious School at Temple Beth El is a multifaceted experience that includes: Holiday and Shabbat Observances, An Award Winning Junior Congregation Service and Shabbat Morning Program, Family Education Workshops, and a wide array of Enrichment Activities. A special Resource Teacher provides individual instruction for each of our students in the upper grades. We have a State of the Art Computer Lab with the latest in Jewish Educational Software. We have recently created a Judaic Lending Library for our children.
Bar and Bat Mitzvah preparation is a regular part of our curriculum for which there is no additional charge.
Graduates of our school are encouraged to return the following year to participate in a Mentoring Program and become students at Shore Hebrew High. Shore Hebrew High is a community School of Jewish Learning of which Temple Beth El is a co-sponsor.
